Hi Friends! Before we start up our third week of SUMMER CAMP tomorrow, I wanted to share some of my favorite memories from the first two weeks!
Week 1: Mega Mammals– We sang Baby Beluga and did Whale Song Karaoke! Used water paint and silhouette cut-outs of our favorite marine mammals to make colorful artwork! ‘Are You Smarter Than A Dolphin’ trivia game! Played Ships & Sailors outside! Down By the Bay Puppet Show! Dressed up as our favorite animals to dance and play! Played outside in our water table & sensory bins! Orienteering lesson and went on a bear hunt using compasses w/ Mr. Ian! Tai Chi and mindfulness with local expert Greg McCarley! Used the CREW kitchen to bake granola and make Blueberry Parfaits! Learned all about Elephants and did more orienteering! Pack Animals survival game! Painted wooden safari animals to take home! Storytime, puzzles, games, and SO MUCH MORE!!

Week 2: Backyard Buddies– We went on a scavenger hunt to collect leaves for craft time later on! Nature walk pointing out local flora and fauna & spotting Wildlife in our own backyard! Peek-A-Boo bunny puppet craft! Lesson about recycling and waste/ recyclable/ compost sorting activity! Squirrel games in groups! Sensory activity – name the animal in grab-bag without peeking! Dress-up raccoon game with colors and matching! Listen to and sing Habitat Song! Mini Biology Lesson- food pyramid! Storytime inside the darkness of our own treehouse: ‘Alone in the Caves’ Learn how wolves evolved into dogs! Hunting expedition and spotting animal tracks outside w/ Mr. Ian! Wildlife rehabber talk with photos of baby animals rehabbed by Mrs. Heather! Also got hands-on with actual supplies needed in rehabilitation! Used the CREW kitchen to bake carrot cake cupcakes w/ homemade icing! Played Predator/Prey game in the gymnasium! Also used gymnasium for an obstacle course putting on our own “Dog Show” starring our own Wild Child participants! Learned all about rabbits in story time! Local friends brought in a bunny and three goslings for us to pet & love on! Singing ‘How Much is that Doggy in the Window’ and had our own dog & cat adoption! Made ID collars for our newly adopted pets to wear & then to take home! Vet Tech demonstration by Mrs. Heather! Made bird seed craft to take home for our feathery backyard friends. Listened to bird calls and identified which ones we hear in our own backyards! Snacks, story time, games, learning, and SO MUCH MORE!!
